Even though I wanted to stay in bed and sleep and cry today (suddenly I just can’t get enough sleep, nine hours last night…) I did manage to go to work, and I had a fairly decent day, if you don’t count the sporadic blubbering. (My therapist suggested I invest in a good waterproof mascara, I did and boy was it ever a good idea.) We threw Fox a baby shower at work complete with many of her favorite foods and wouldn’t you know, we actually managed to surprise her! She followed us around while we were putting out trays of food and stuff, asking why people were so dressed up. You see, we didn’t exactly “plan” how we were going to keep her occupado while preparing the par-tay, but it was funny to see her finally “get it” that we were there to celebrate her!

Tonight, I went to Medieval Times with Holly and the wee Brosie. He is too much cute for one person to handle, see?

I like to cheese out with this little booger. Not often will a friend offer to use her gift certificate for a night out on the town, show you a good time with dinner and a live show allowing you to act like you’re 12 again AND let you squeeze and smooch on her adorable offspring. (Thank you so much Holly, it was the most fun I’ve had in quite some time.) As the lights went down and the show started, Brosie nudged me with his elbow like he wanted to tell me a secret, I leaned in close to hear what he had to say and he laid a big ol’ smooch on my cheek. I tell you, THAT is definitely worth scraping my ragged ass up and leaving the house for.

Doesn’t he look just like his mama? I’m a lucky girl to have friends like these.

One Response to “An Ounce or Two of Happy…”

Holly Says:

Aww! Amanda we loved your ragged ass! So glad you were able to scrape it up.

We had a blast too! It was so awesome to be there with you!
I really enjoyed myself. Brosey was soooo fun to watch getting all into the fighting and cheering the knights on!
