I ordered the Baby Bobbi Bear pattern over a week ago. It supposedly shipped via regular 1st class mail last Friday, but as of yesterday afternoon it was still not in my mailbox. I’ve refrained from expressing any displeasure-itude to the customer service department because I suppose it isn’t THAT late and I acknowledge the indisputable fact that I am not very fond of waiting for stuff- like ever. I’m also uber-anxious to get my hands on a book written by a favorite blogger of mine, Crazy Aunt Purl, it is called Drunk, Divorced and Covered in Cat Hair - I’ve pre ordered my copy, have you? If you haven’t checked her out- knitters and non-knitters- you are in for a treat. I LOVE her- but that is a post for another day.I don’t know why I’m so obsessed with the Baby Bobbi Bear. There have been several stuffed animal patterns to cross my path that I have had a vague and passing inclination to put on the ol’ needles, except this time, I KNOW that this is the real thing. It just might be knitting love. Or the fact that the bear is knit all in one piece and that appendages are a HUGE pain in the arse. Hmmm. More likely though, it is the face. The cute, please cuddle with me right this second face. I know of some babies that are in dire NEED of this bear.
Keep fingers and toes crossed that the pattern has arrived at the homestead tonight. I’m going to the lake this weekend and the bear would be a much better project than the stealth knitting. The stealth knitting is a lap full o’ wool. Which during a heat wave isn’t ideal. But during a heat wave in August in Georgia when your air conditioning is broken and you have FOUR cats vying for equal lap time (yeah, the fifth hides under the bed and doesn’t like me- I realize I’m nuts thankyouverymuch) it sucks beyond all comprehension.

Boy do I know that feeling. I ordered something from Knitpicks on 7/31 and got the free shipping, but as of this morning it hadn’t arrived. I was about to be very impatient but decided to give it ONE MORE DAY.
I came back from lunch and there it was. Sooo happy. So maybe the shipping gods will smile on you too.
PS - I got Elizabeth Zimmerman books now. I feel so brainy just owning them! And yay - I can start on my own stealth knitting now. Socks and sea wrap go on hold.
